  1. That was a sight to see. We’d been told they had a free buffet on Canada day and we thought, come on, if they did that half the city would be there.
Well a lot of the neighbourhood was anyway. Estimated wait 3, 4 hours?

To note, it’s in the parking lot behind Mandarin (and behind much else of that plaza) that in the far corner a feral cat shelter, oft seen here, stands.

  3. Not sure if they had it this year (2012) as it was on a weekend day so I’m not in the area, and as nice a thought as it is, and genuinely generous, there are issues with it. People spending 4 or 5 hours in the parking lot and wrapped around the buildings down the sidewalk round the block for that length of time, the other businesses get walled off, and, asked hundreds of times to use the washroom, so, it’s good, must it might be unmanageably popular. (Subway sub guy one year said his one toilet was jammed and flooded 3 times in one day he’d had to redo the whole bathroom thing. They could just close, but its frequent new management in places around there, they’re just unsuspecting of serving 300 who only want to use the facilities, while running a little sandwich shop.
