Jane Barlow Paintings, some all time favorites

In celebration of her immanent birthday, I thought I’d put up some all time favorites, mixing the eras together operatically, with minimum verbiage from me and the paintings launched at full size for the excitement of a screen well filled. With appreciation and a resounding cheer of happy happy birthday. Love John

  1. John? This is Mark Dresser. I knew you, your mother, your father, and your sister, Anne, way back in the late 70s, at Beach Grove and St Clair Beach. I have one of your mother’s paintings that I bought for my mother almost 45 years ago. I am bidding on another at auction presently. I worked in Ottawa with Anne one summer, but that’s 30+ years ago.

    • I have one of your mother’s pieces going in an online auction in Toronto East opening
      May 19th and closing May 26, 2016.
It is a very large piece of artwork, signed and dated 1966.
You can view it at http://www.silentbidders.ca and it will be under the “Timeless Treasures” auction.

  2. My mother was a good friend of Jane’s in Florida. I received a letter from a Jane earlier this year and am trying to find or her daughter. Can you help me? Sally Hauck, daughter of Wally Schmelzer.

  3. I’ve loved your mother’s painting since my parents purchased one in Windsor decades ago. I own two now and am looking to buy more. If you hear of any for sale, PLEASE let me know at turbettg@hotmail.com.

  4. Hi John,
My name is Mike Burke. You used to live next door to us on Latour Street in St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec. You were friends with my brother Patrick (who was born in 1959 and is 3 years older than me). I would sometimes go fishing to the nearby river with the two of you. My mother Marielle passed in 2010 and father Len, in 2014. I have inherited a beautiful oil painting your mother gave (or sold, don’t know) to our family while we lived side-by-side in the duplex home. I believe your parents were our landlords. I spent many hours as a child admire and imagining my myself exploring the beautiful calm river and old growth forests depicted in it. It was always a nice escape from my life’s problems. I remember your mother well. She was always gentle and caring to me as a child…which I dearly needed. Please relay my best wishes and regards of admiration, in the art she produce and the person she is.
Email me if you would like a photo of her beautiful painting.
