Bright Buddha Birthday!

Baby geese, Jamie Reid’s “Can You Hear Me Now?” in the mail, my groundhog friend, fabulous spring pine berries, stunning red flowers in front garden of Kingdom Hall, quite the fantastical birthday for the Buddha. All seems appropriate somehow. May 11 — 1st off, exact to the day that the geese parents who live over our front office at work managed to urge their offspring into launching off the roof. Kersplat, this year in the grass, last year May 11 it was right to pavement.

Why they choose specifically our front office from among the many and choose this day each year is a question for the highest of bird scientists. But then why does the ground hog return to this particular segment of hill every spring?

We’ll take it though. An apt celebration for the birthday of the Buddha, the internationalling of Jamie’s unbelievably beautiful book made for him by Carol Reid for his birthday. What a work! I never imagined the lifestory in photos, and the super array of writing.
