I MISS YOU

Filed under: Uncategorized — oversion @ 1:10 pm

You’re a very good influence on me.

Life seems some of the most real

when we’re communicating back and forth.

How has everything worked out there of late?

Oh the spiritualists eh, they always call for

the grand illuminations beyond everything.

Who wants to be beyond everything?

I am animated by others, and I say that

not as a fail of all the pure independent,

but as a phenomenologist.

  1. Who are you talking to?

    • I am hoping anyone who reads it will have the experience of feeling missed, and I expect they will be right in doing so. While it is adapted from a letter to one person, upon being formalized as a blog poem it’s purposes become broad. I like it in particular for its contention that the quest for isolate fulfillment and independent wholeness, while important, ( and not ‘bullshit’ as in the original humourous version ) is itself by no means the complete answer. Other objects at the least – would one feel whole and fulfilled in a completely empty world? Still, I can see why people need peace and quiet, downtime, and meditative time, in a world like this. And I do know of “the tyranny of the other” though I live alone myself. : )
